Asian? Cuban? Hard to say. I recently went with two friends and we all left with mixed feelings. The restaurant is in the trendy and nice-looking Saint Martin's Lane hotel. Having this in mind is natural to imagine that dishes won''t be cheap. Well you are right. It is expensive, but portions are generous, well cooked and nicely presented. The Mojitos and Caipirinhas are so strong that you won't be needing many to feel Asian, Cuban... you choose!

I have never been a big fan of panAsian food so it is difficult for me to be objective when it comes to fusion food. The influences were not only Cuban but also Peruvian, Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Chinese among others. Leaving aside the geographical factor the food was good. My friends shared the ceviche tasting which came with prawn crisps and dried banana. For mains we had Octopus, which was very dry, Chicken and Tofu. The Chicken and the Tofu were cooked perfectly and were really good. Only complain is that the tofu could have a bigger side for the 23 pounds they charge.
The signature mojitos tasted like anything but Mojitos. The Caipirinhas were alcohol and ice. We sent them back because we are not of the idea of drinking for the sake of getting drunk.
The service at Asia de Cuba is good, our host was very attentive and patient with all our complaints. The atmosphere on a Thursday night was perfect for a night out with friends, a fancy date or a business dinner.
There are not many vegetarian options and one should ask for a separate menu, otherwise one is left with only two options.
A good option if you want to impress someone. I do not think I will go back for dinner but will definitely try the dim sun brunch soon.
