Seasonal and ethical sourced food; organic wine; relaxed atmosphere; generous portions; plenty of availability and very tasty British food. Bumpkin ticks all of the above.

Bumpkin has three locations: Nothing Hill, Kensington and Westfield. I have eaten in the Nothing Hill and Kensington branches. Both have their charm but there is a je ne sais quoi  at their Old Brompton location that makes it my favourite.
For British people or adopted Londoners, it is no news that British food can be great, that fish and chips can be gourmet and that food of excellent quality is not difficult to find. Bumpkin knows well how to show that. Even the most sceptics will like this restaurant/gastro pub.
Bumpkin is located between Gloucester road and South Kensigton on the Old Brompton road giving the restaurant a sophisticated, residential, familiar atmosphere. During sunny days it is wonderful to sit in the terrace and watch people stroll in front of you. The food is fresh and tasty. The menu includes fish and chips, roasted cod, salmon, pork belly, grilled pork chops, beef burgers and salads. For the vegetarians the roasted squash and root vegetables are a great option. My favourite dish is the savoury pancakes. The pudding and cheeses look very very compelling however I could not over indulge in spite of having my eye on the mulled wine poached pears with vanilla and cinnamon, served with gingerbread and clotted Cornish cream.
Bumpkin is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. During the weekends they offer brunch and Sunday roast.
Great place to go with friends, family, on dates or to relax. The prices are not cheap but the food will be good. The service is not fast and if sitting in the terrace one needs extra patience.
