Stylish in appearance, modest by heart. Kimchee combines well minimalist elegance with tasty Korean food at reasonable prices.

71 High Holborn  London WC1V 6EA

I have been so many times to this restaurant that I've lost count. Kimchee is one of my favourite restaurants in London because the food is great; it is not expensive and because you can always find a table even during busy week lunch time.

The menu is extensive so it may be difficult to choose, specially if you are a meat lover. The options include the traditional kimchee dishes, barbecues, noodles and rice dishes, soups and lots of veggie options. It is also great to order dishes to share tapas style i.e. grilled asparagus, ribs, portobello mushroom, dumplings and tofu tempura. My favourite dish is the Spinach Jjigae (soybean soup with spinach and tofu) and I always drink plum tea.

The clientele is very diverse but usually dominated by Asian youngsters and young professionals from the Holborn area. Kimchee only has shared tables, but there is enough space and one does not feel the neighbour is sharing one's food and listening to one's talk.

Kimchee is a great option in an otherwise chain oriented Holborn.
