The Gate is heaven for vegetarians! I had previously eaten at the branch in Hammersmith so I was expecting good food. I was not disappointed. The Gate in West London was not very inspiring from outside but this branch is another story. It is better located, the decoration is cozy/stylish and therefore the ambience is more diverse. The food stills combines exciting flavours and great presentation.

I went for lunch and at the time the clientele was a mix of young professionals, couples, and groups of friends.  The ambience is therefore for everyone. By night, perfect for a date and on weekends for a multi multicuisine brunch. The food is therefore suitable for most palettes. Im sure the non- vegetarians would also enjoy it.
Dishes are nicely presented and portions are generous. The menu includes mezes, tagines, curries, raviolis, soups, and more. The drink menu is also wide. Many juices, teas and wines to choose from. All together a great restaurant.
Prices are affordable considering that The Gate is a restaurant in the direction of fine dinning. The only downside is the service. Although quick enough they do not make an effort on being friendlier than the minimum expected. Overall a non-stereotypical vegetarian restaurant, not even the friendly attitude. Hopefully it was all due to winter blues.
